hi guys i'm being made homeless on the 29th april so i've just cancelled my contract. i was told that i wouldn't have to pay for the remainder of my contract. i requested a returns bag to return my router. i was told that my contract would be cancelled on 22 may but i told them i'm leaving on 29th april so i wont be around to use it. they said they would terminate my service on the 29th. my bill is due on 28th april so will i still need to pay this as my contract will stop the next day? also when is the best time to cancel my talktalk direct debit? could you please confirm that my contract has indeed been terminated from 29th april and no charges will be incurred. many thanks for all your help over the years and if i find suitable accomodation i hope to return to talktalk . thanks again

Hi there @guitarman3, thank you for reaching out. Once your services are active on your new address, we will be able to credit the amount on your old account to the new account you can also do a refund request. And you will need to set up the direct debit for the new account, thanks.

It's quite a complicated situation, @guitarman3 !
Usually "returning customers" are treated as new, but when you log into My Account your old My Account will show. I'd get the refund claimed back from that first, to tidy up the cancelled package.
If you do sign up with Talktalk again, you usually need to use a different email address. You need to get this complicated, non standard case checked out really carefully, @guitarman3.
Arne is no longer here. I'll re-escalate this thread for you, but, ultimately any new contract you set up can't be done through the forum.

Hi guitarman3
Your contract is cancelling on the 29th April with no fees, You will be due a refund next month, which you can claim via My Account on or just after the 18th May, once the refund is processed you can cancel the direct debit after that.
