Hi, I have an issue with Ebay being blocked for me most of the time, occasionally it works for a few days and then its blocked again, I can only access it via a vpn, this is the error

"Access Denied

You don't have permission to access "http://www.ebay.co.uk/myb/WatchList?" on this server.

Reference #18.1e3f655f.1774491197.fd2b810

https://errors.edgesuite.net/18.1e3f655f.1774491197.fd2b810"

its the same regardless of browser or deletion of cookies etc. Does anyone have a solution?

P.S in HomeSafe settings i have scam and virus enabled but no other protection (other than win11 firewall/antiV)

Thank you and Rgds

Edward

Hi @loxocemus

Thanks for the trace, which I have now deleted from your thread. I will try and have a look at this later today for you.

From the 29th of March our TalkTalk Community will move to peer-to-peer support and the TalkTalk team will no longer be here to support with queries. Don’t worry we still have plenty of ways to reach out if you need to speak to TalkTalk directly. For more details check out the link here How to contact TalkTalk Broadband - TalkTalk Help & Support

Hi @loxocemus

Thanks for the results that you PM'd me with. As I suspected, they show that you reached the destination. However, something, possibly their web server, is blocking your access. To determine what this is, I will need you to get me a Wireshark trace. I can provide a guide giving full details about getting me the Wireshark trace, which I will analyse for you. Please let me know if you are happy to do this.

Hi keith, As i suspected my access to ebay was just temporary, i am again blocked by the same access denied error, i shall pm you the ping results. this time it occurred while i was browsing ebay, the basket/cart link became access denied followed a few seconds later by the entire site.

OK, that's fine, both Google, I just use different settings from preference. But if that's what you have in your eero settings then it is not the issue. Thank you for checking and confirming. I think I will leave you in the capable hands of @KeithFrench going forwards!  🙂

hey ferguson, mines is similar to that

IPv4 primary is 8.8.8.8

but

IPv4 secondary  is 8.8.4.4 not the 208.67.222.222 shown above?

OK, just to satisfy my urge for changing the DNS settings "properly" in the eero here's how to do it.

First, from the home page of the eero app make sure that the security settings are turned off:

Then tap on Settings:

Then tap on Advanced networking:

And that then on DNS, where you can change the setting from ISP DNS to Customise.

Sorry, I don't know what you mean by "control panel?"

Thanks for the PM @loxocemus there is nothing wrong with the ping, but then it is working OK at the moment. Next time it goes wrong, PM me again with the results from a trace route. From a Windows PC command prompt, this would be:-

tracert ebay.co.uk

As I mentioned at the start, it may be necessary to use Wireshark as well, but let's wait & see what happens when or if it goes wrong again.

Possibly @ferguson I would just like to prove where this rejection message is coming from first.

@loxocemus No worries, let's see if we can sort it completely. I noticed the "access denied" message came from Edge, have you tried a different browser e.g. Chrome?

@KeithFrench Thanks. Does the above make sense?
