hello all, help/advice please
I am shortly having full fibre 150 installed and understand that a new router, eero, will be installed. All I require from my wifi service is as currently used, that is 2 chromebooks, a very occasional ipad and 3 occasional phones. Majority of the time just one chromebook is in use and I use a chromecast for various streaming to the TV. The current talktalk black router handles all this absolutely ok.
So my question is: Is there any point in installing the new router which seems added complications to me and ok to stick with the old one which I assume would carry on as I am used to?
Any input would be appreciated. Thank you.

Absolutely, yes, no worries. 🙂

thanks Ferguson. By 'will do the job' does that mean it is capable of giving me the enhanced speed of fibre 150 and would there be any downsides?
thank you

That should work just fine. It's what I used when I first set up, in preference to the eero. Unlike you, I do have digital voice so I secured a Hub 2 which has a VoIP port built in. But if you are going for data only then it will do the job. All you should have to do is connect the WAN port on the router to the LAN port of the ONT once installed.

What router do you have currently? Will you require Digital Voice?
