Caller Display shows all calls as Private Caller since FTTP installed

FTTP was installed mid March with the phone plugged into the back of the router. Since then all calls display as Private Caller. The last displayed call was 15th March.Caller Display option is still ticked. I had assumed they were all spam so left the ansafone to record a message and if the caller spoke I could pick up if recognised. Most ring my mobile.

Hi jimfer,

I've re-added caller display, this can take a few hours to take effect so could you test it later

Thanks

Chris

I have tried my phone on my neighbour's TalkTalk landline connection, called it from my mobile and caller display worked so it's not a phone problem. Will try on my router connection when you turn Caller Display back on on Monday.

Hi feguson, I tried that but it didn't work. Currently they've turned off CD and will turn back on Monday (couldn't do it in the TT a/c). If that doesn't work I'll try another power down and up after 30 mins again.

@jimfer

I had a similar issue. I was advised to switch off both the ONT and the router for 30 minutes. Having doing done so and then switching them back on I found caller display was working again. Maybe worth trying before the support team pick this up again next week.

 I've placed and order to remove caller display but it will take a couple of hours at least before it can be re-added so I'll do this first thing on Monday

I untick Caller Display on https://myaccount.talktalk.co.uk/myservices/myservices/view  but there's no Update button (tried 3 different browsers and all the same). So it's still ticked after getting to a display with the Logout option, logging out and back in.

Could you try unticking caller display and leave it an hour, then tick it again, also it would be helpful if you can get hold of another telephone to test with

No I don't have another DECT phone but the fact that my last recorded incoming call on 15th March was the day before Full Fibre went live cannot be a coincidence. I haven't tried unticking Caller Display in my account and reticking it, but others with caller display issues report that this didn't solve it. I could possibly borrow a neighbour's phone to confirm the problem.

OK thanks for trying that. Do you have another telephone handset that you can test with to rule out any problems with the current one

Hi jimfer,

Could you switch the ONT and router off for 30 minutes then switch both back on and retest. Please let us know how you get on
