Wondering if anyone can help? I moved into my new house on 20 December. Service with TalkTalk went live on 31 December. Moved areas so new landline number was given to me. I don’t have a plug in phone, only use mobile. Cut to today and received an email from TalkTalk telling me I’ve used half my monthly allowance. Strange as I never have done in the nearly 10 years I’ve been with TalkTalk. Looked at itemised bill and there are MANY calls to Canada, from MY landline number, but not made by me and I don’t even have a phone to use the landline number!
After googling the number it’s a well known “scam” to financial companies in Canada. How on Earth do I stop this, get a refund, change my number, disconnect?
Seriously concerned! Thanks in advance for any help.

@wallyhelp, borrow a plug in handset and dial 17070 from your Talktalk landline.
Check that the number read back to you is indeed the one they gave you when you moved.
There may be a crossed wire, so if the number read back is not yours, someone else has the number that you are being billed for.
This sort of thing pops up alarmingly frequently.
