All power off in the house.
Using a new BT Big Button 200 phone.
As soon as I press the first number persistent crackling is heard and persists as I press more numbers. This phone is powered by the landline from the exchange.
This crackling makes some calls impossible to continue.
Crackling has been going on since Christmas.
Recent the crackling was followed by a snap and the call dropped.
When the caller rang me again their voice was distorting/echoing.
Their next try produced a clear connection.
TalkTalk tell me there is no fault.
An Openreach engineer could hear the crackling but could not find a reason.
Landline has been faulty on and off for six years.
Repetitive Electrical Impulse Noise [REIN] has been mentioned in the past but never investigated.
I would be very grateful for any suggestions. Thank you.

Hi Crackle170224,
I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing problems with your service.
Line test isn't picking up any issues. How many telephone sockets do you have in your home? Have you tested with the telephone connected to your test socket?
