Landline Phone Has No Dial Tone but Broadband OK

My Land line phone has no dial tone but my broadband is working. I have raised a fault on behalf of my elderly mother who relies on this service but the fault tracker has not been updated since the 2/1/24. We suspect the landline has not been working for over a month now. Please advise.
