Hi, my landline number is being withheld and showing as Private Number when I call someone. This means that some people or systems will not take my call.

I have looked through My Account, Telephone Setting and the Privacy Settings do not show a tick-box option to Withhold Number (screen shot below).

Looking through other posts it seems it as known problem which can be fixed by TalkTalk.

Please could someone from support add the Withold Number option box to my settings.

Thanks.

Thanks for trying. I'll pass it over to our network team and ask them to take a look. I'll let you know when I receive an update or they may contact you directly

Hi Chris,

I disconnected ONT, Eero and Grandstream voip adaptor for 60 minutes. After reconnection I have made a couple of calls and it still shows Private Number on the recieving phone.

When I logon to my account the Withhold Number tick box option is not shown in Telephone Settings.

What can be done next?

Thanks.

Hi Styl888,

The withhold number is disabled. Could you switch off the ONT, eero and DVA for 30 minutes, then switch back on and retest. Please let us know how you get on

Hi Karl,

The router is the Eero 6 along with the Grandstream voip. Phone connected and working fine. Can make and receive calls. Caller Display works for incoming calls.

Recently upgraded to 150Mb from 65Mb full fibre. No change to line as already had fibre to the premises.

This Withheld Number issue was also happening with 65Mb so I guess an original setup problem.

Have tried in the past with TalkTalk telephone technical support but just get pointed to the option in Telephone Privacy features. They then have no solution when I say the option not there!

Hope that it can be sorted by the Community support team.

Thanks.

Hi

as you now have a voip service, the phone should be connected either to the phone port at the back of the router, or via a digital voice adapter if you have an eero, can you con firm the router you are using.

Thanks

Karl.
