Landline out of use

For the last two/three days, I've had no landline connection. People who try to call me get a ringing tone that doesn't connect to my phone, and if we try and call someone, we get nothing, the screen on the phone is blank.
We have tried all we are supposed to ie. plug into the master/tester socket, plug in another phone, we still get nothing.
I've spent about 1h30 on chat and they couldn't get to my issue. They said the line is fine! Not impressed so far, that's following me spending most of the last August bank holiday with no internet but that's another issue.
I never had issues with previous providers before TalkTalk took over.
