Not using the eero as it is not capable for my complex setup.

Using Linksys 8500 with Grandstream voip as supplied by TalkTalk. Has been working fine until today when the blue telephone light started to slow flash. Checked there are no messages. Rest using pin twice, blue light now on soli but still recipients cannot hear me. Tried faults and have refused to reinstall the eero as it is not capable on my setup. Faults will not go any further.

Either there is a telephone voip fault in the system or the grandstream is giving up the ghost.

Either way, it is a pain in the bum and totally unreliable. Can you look into it for me please.

Thanks for trying that, glad to hear it's working with the eero. Could you just monitor for the rest of  the day with the eero to make sure that it continues to work before testing again with the 3rd party router

Thanks

Hi Chris

Eero is back in and right now it is working but obviously have no idea if this will continue and will only know if anyone rings me. However, now the old problem is back and some access I require for my trading no longer works due to the limitations of the Eero and the echo dots have a long delay before action, nigh on 5 seconds. Wifi with these Eeros is atrocious. And not there is little to no interference, channels changed to no avail etc etc. Even setting up the second Eero in the room has nil effect.

How long the phone will work is anyone's guess. I will reset my Linksys router and find out what ports this voip required and get them open and eventually switch it back in, unless you want to tell me what specific ports the Grand stream requires. TalkTalk are little helpful in that respect. It will be the same ports on any router. Lots of port forwarding I guess.

Oh I did have one problem reinstalling the Eeros. One refused to connect. Internet was connected but the app refused to playball and connect with that particular Eero.

Hi Dave,

Could you do as ferguson has suggested and test with the eero. Please let us know how you get on

It may be worth testing the VoIP service temporarily with the eero just to see if it works then.
