Phone display says Check Phone Line

My fibre connection is fine.
My copper landline to my home phone is now dead after many days of loud line crackling making it near impossible for a conversation. A few days ago phone display started to say "Check Phone LIne"
TalkTalk connection test tells me they should be connecting my phone to fibre in a couple of months.
I've done every test that TalkTalk suggests with no success. I don't have either a spare landline phone or a spare cable to fit between the master socket or the phone base unit.
I am still paying for my copper line and I want it in full working order until TalkTalk gets round to converting my phone line to fibre in two months time (possibly! - who knows?).
I am profoundly deaf and use my home phone at maximum volume along with my hearing aid at maximum volume. My mobile is OK but not good enough.
Please restore my copper phone line to full working order without delay.
if you can't do this then reduce my bill accordingly.
