extremely crackly landline

hello, my landline has been extremely crackly for days now, please could someone tell me how it can be checked ? thank you (also broadband been dropping intermittently too these last few days)

Morning,
Can I just confirm, is the line also crackly when the router is removed from the line? Have you also tested with a different phone?

Hi Debbie, sorry for the delay, the line and internet did seem to be better for a day but it keeps dropping and the line is crackly again. please could you arrange for an engineer to call to investigate further? thank you

Thanks for your reply.
The line test is clear - No faults detected.
If you have tested with a different phone at the master socket, with all other equipment removed from the line then the next step will be an Openreach engineer visit to the property.
Please let me know if you would like me to arrange this visit.
