Kid Safe suddenly turned off by itself!

On the 27th September when browsing some legit sites I saw them blocked due to "Homework Time", which I never turned on. I found the option OFF in MyTalkTalk account which was odd, turning it back on and off did nothing so I just set a 30m time in the middle of the night so I can continue and never thought more of it.

Today I also discovered that Kid Safe did absolutely nothing! The option was ON but all categories previously selected as blocked (porn, self harm, drugs etc) were unselected, and a couple of websites I manually unblocked were also gone.

I have most definitely turned in ON and selected blocked categories as confirmed in the most recent email I received on the 27th September. After that I tried turning the homework time off and back on to remedy the weird bug and never toughed the blocked categories in the Kid Safe section. Even if I did, I'd have an email confirming the change.

Once I discovered it not working this morning, I tried turning the option off and back on, selected categories to block, it still didn't work but I understand this might take some time to propagate and I had to leave for work. But the KidSafe suddenly enabling all site categories without any action is deeply concerning, can someone investigate what's going on here?

@KimJongIl I will raise this so that the team can look into it, it should not have turned off automatically.

I keep those two off on purpose, I work remotely a lot, they cause issues with VPNs, certain cloud services, and remote access tools.

I can confirm that the adult sites are now blocked, I still don't know how the Kid Safe turned itself off and never notified me, so I just wanted to bring it to your attention.

In addition, I understand that on your MyAccount under My Security, you will be able to see HomeSafe, KidSafe, Scam Protection, Homework Time and Virus Alerts.

While you have stated that HomeSafe settings are switch on, I will strongly advise for you to also switch on the following settings:

- Virus Alerts

- Scam Protection.

Once done, please restart your router and test to see if you would still be able to access the certain sites you wish to be blocked.

@KimJongIl, thank you for bringing this to our attention as do apologise for any difficulties caused. Just to check, have you tried to firstly clear your browser history before attempting to make any changes via your MyAccount?
