I have a problem with logging into to www.thetimes.co.uk using my Chrome browser. I use the correct name and password but somehow I think Kid Safe is blocking it. I have contacted TT and had a helpful real person try and set Kid Safe up. She told me to wait 3 hours for the TT server to get in sync. I did that but it is exactly the same.
The page I get states: "This site can't be reached. The connection was reset."
The Times has recently created a new app which I can install in my smartphone and that does give me full access to everything on the site while using TT Wifi.
Has anyone else found this?
My guess is that the Times uses multiple URL's for various features. So, for example, using a web browser I can actually bring up the page for thetimes.co.uk but when I click the 'Login' link it wants to open login.thetimes.com and that is what fails. But I can't enter that URL as an allowed Kid Safe. It falls back to using thetimes.com, which I cannot add because then TT thinks it is a duplicate and that is not allowed.
I have done all the clearing cookies and browsing data and I have restarted my PC. I have actually tried two different routers (I have a spare), and always the same.
In one sense it is ok because I can use my smartphone, but TT's security code lets everything through to that but nothing through to a laptop device, so that feels like I need to know what URL the app actually connects to. (A proxy server, maybe?)
Thanks for any suggestions.

Thanks. I tried a different router with a similar setup and still with Chrome and that didn't work. Maybe a Mac is different. But probably HomeSafe / DNS is part of the problem. Thanks for replying though. We'll see if anyone else has anything to say. As I said below, there is no rush now since I use the PlayStore app. I think that must us a proxy server with a single URL that 'knows' how to connect on a single session.

That site is loading fine for me with Chrome on my MacBook. I do not use HomeSafe though and prefer third-party DNS servers, have you tried that?

Yes I am, but I am not so bothered as I was because I can use TT Wifi on my Mobile phone and the Android times app works perfectly.
