Box not working properly

I am asking this for my elderly neighbour who has been with talktalk for years. She is 89 years old and wants to be able to speak to an advisor about her TV box not working right. She had the old box you can record on and it has stopped recording. How does she get to speak to a person please. Thank you

If this is the older Youview box, Model DN370 or DN372T, TalkTalk stopped providing these boxes nearly 4 years ago.  When the hard drive fails or the box can no longer record, then the box cannot be repaired or replaced.

 

TalkTalk no longer provide a recordable TV Box, and now only provide the TV HUB.  This is an android based TV Box that will stream content and receive freeview channels via an aerial.

If the TV Hub is something they are interested in, they can call 0345 172 0088 and an agent can discuss options and the latest offers with them,

I will pass this to TalkTalk staff who will make a post here, but if the box is the DN372T, as I suspect (maybe you could confirm the model), it is discontinued & there is nothing that can be done about it. Mine went exactly the same way & that is why I bought the one from Manhattan.

Hi Keith 

Thanks for the info but she did have this box replaced only last year or maybe year before I can't remember. Obviously with her age she wants same or get an engineer to sort it but she wants to actually speak to a person and she is having difficulty with the automated menus, do you know how she can speak to someone please?

That box (presumably the DN372T) has long since been obsolete and therefore cannot be replaced. If she wants a recordable box there is the T4-R from Manhattan (I use the previous model the T3-R which is still very good), or one of the offerings from Humax.

 

There is also an option to have a streaming box, which is all TalkTalk does now. That can be obtained via the Loyalty Dept on 0345 1725157 or 0330 1278960 and negotiate a price.
