no sound from my talktalk box

I have recently bought a new TV. I had it installed by Currys, so I am sure it has been set up correctly.

All my recordings are still there, and I can record new programmes, BUT, I cannot get any sound from my TV when I try to view a programme or film through my TV.

I would welcome your thoughts please.

General things to check though are that the HDMI cables are fully inserted in each end, trying a different HDMI cable and trying a different HDMI Port on the TV 

 

Also some TVs need the boxes and dvd players etc, installed" to operated properly and others require HDMI ports to be configured to work.

 

If your new TV is a 4k one, it maybe that you need a 4k rated HDMI cable for the information to be processed by the TV correctly.

 

Also do you have a soundbar or surround sound system, as these bring other issues into what could be the problem?
