I cancelled my Talktalk account in July. I spoke to someone at Talktalk - it was no problem, they confirmed it would be cancelled, and they said they had put an 'uncolicited cease' on my account (wasn't sure what that meant).
I have just been charged for August. Very frustrating.
I am overseas now in the UAE. I tried calling customer services but got stuck in an automated loop.
How can I resolve this? I just want to cancel my contract.

I can see that a cancellation request has since been requested to be completed by 30th Aug.

Out of hours or if busy you dont see the chat now button.
if you see the button and it doesn't load, try disabling any pop up blockers you may have installed. A pop up window should appear.

Really frustrating! I just get the loading wheel when trying to load the Live Chat...

I have chatted to someone on facebook and they have confirmed that the cancellation was not actioned on the Talktalk end.
The advice is for me to use the Live Chat (which does not load...) or to call the same number I have already tried (got stuck in an automated loop).
So I'm at a bit of a dead end.

Phoning is the best way to do so.
You could try chat and ask them if the cancellation has gone through.
Is there any clue in My Account?
Chat will probably schedule a call back to you from the Loyalty team who handle cancellations if it has not gone through, so be sure to stress you are abroad and to give them your phone number.
