Fixed Price Plus contract ending

Having been with TalkTalk for a number of years, I have renewed my contract with the Loyalty Team a few times.

I am currently on Fixed Price Plus contract which is ending in less than a month and I have recently received an email from TalkTalk outlining my "options" (I don't remember ever getting one of these in the past).

I was always under the impression that upon the contract term ending, the effectively discounted rate will end I would be paying the full price for the rolling monthly "out of contract" service. However, the email states that my first option is to do nothing and I will have the freedom of being out of contract but crucially, it states that I will continue to pay the same monthly rate as I have been during my contract. The only change will come each April with an increase equivalent to the CPI rate of inflation. Is this correct? Is there a catch? It seems almost too good to be true.

On one hand I would like to just stay with TalkTalk. I know they're far from perfect but I've never had any major problems with them and don't know if it's worth the hassle changing supplier - better the devil you know and all that.

On the other hand I have suffered some abuse from Community Stars on this forum so wonder if the right thing to do is leave a place where I'm not wanted when I am able to do that penalty free.

Hi @AllyM @ferguson is correct. The exact scenario happened for me to my great pleasure and even the increase was only. 80p when it came.

I don't work here and all my opinions are my own.

Sorry AllyM

"All the other broadband companies I have looked at are asking more than the £24.95 per month I'm currently paying."

Is your point that we are cheaper?

I think you are missing the point Arne.

Hi AllyM

Sorry that you are thinking of leaving.

Best option would be to call the loyalty team on 03451720088 The will be able to see what options are available.

Regards

Yes, that's right. If you stay as you are then your package price will remain the same until next April, when it will increase by CPI. Exactly as per the terms of the Fixed Price Plus contract.
