Payment Adjustment after changing Billing Date

I recently changed my payment date in the knowledge that I would have to pay an adjusted amount next month. My latest bill was paid by DD as normal on 31 July. I have now received a "reminder" to pay an additional £2.56 straightaway or face an "admin fee" of £12.50. I checked My Account and the bill for August has already been produced. And this shows £2.56 will be taken by DD on 4 August. So can you clarify all this please?

Just to confirm that the DD was taken today, so next month hopefully things should be back to normal. I could have really done without this email message though, which prompted my concerns originally:

The payment should be taken in the next 24 hours for £2.56,  you wont get charged any admin fees.
