Switch providers 1 day before contract end date - Early exit fee?

Do I have to pay an early exit fee if I switch from TalkTalk one day before my contract end date?

The only confirmation I received about early exit fee was the date TalkTalk received notification of switch request (2nd of December) instead of using the scheduled switch date in January.
