Internet speed seems slow. When I run a test speed to router is ok (29Mbps) but speed to device is slow (8Mbps). Any ideas on what is going on?

Hi James

The router is on its way, please allow 24-48hrs for this to arrive.

Please let us know how the connection/speed compares with this router.

Thanks

Michelle,

Let's try a Wifi Hub and see if that cures the problem.

Hi James,

I'm sorry to hear this. I've run a test on the line now which is clear. I can see that you're using one of our older routers. Would you like us to send a Wifi Hub instead to see how the connection/speed compares?

Thanks

Michelle

To update your Community profile, this can be done by clicking on your Avatar picture then click on "My Settings" followed by:-

Personal Profile > Personal Information

Otherwise, TalkTalk will not be able to tie up your forum username to your broadband account. Only you & TalkTalk have visibility of your details.

Please can you add your name and TalkTalk landline number to your Community Profile, we can then take a look at this for you.

Please can you elaborate by answering these few questions:-

1. Is this device connected to the router via a wired (Ethernet) or a wireless connection?

2. What make/model of router do you have (if this is a TalkTalk router, these details will be on a label on the rear or underside of it)?
3. What package are you on?
4. If you have any wired connections, are they affected in the same way as wireless ones?
