Hi, my father has been ill for the last 12 months and has moved into permanent care. His house is being sold and I am struggling to cancel his broadband account as I have a paper bill but he can’t remember his log in details. The text messages I’m getting don’t seem to understand this. Any ideas how to get them to cancel the account?

You’re a star, I have an EPA for my dad so it should be straightforward. Just keep getting pushed to texts.

ill persevere with the phone. Thanks Barry

@Smartbazza, you should have Power of Attorney set up if you are having to take care of your father's affairs.

Normally only the account holder can cancel.

It can't be done by texting / emails etc.

You need to phone Talktalk. Don't use Chat as they will still require him to respond to a phone call.

Have him with you when you call:

03451 720088 MONDAY  to SATURDAY, so not open Sunday,  after 9am.
