How to change super Router back to adsl

Have purchased a new router which is both fibre & adsl. How do you reset for adsl as the light is constantly flashing? This would suggest that it is currently set up for fibre. Any help is welcome thanks.

OK, the Dlink is also old. Make sure that your personal details including TalkTalk phone number or account number are complete on your community profile (click here) so that the support team can link your forum identity with your account and then wait for them to respond. I am confident they will offer you a new router. Bear in mind that they won't be back online until Monday.

Bear in mind also that WiFi issues could be caused by a number of factors such as interference,  but if you wait until staff on here reach this thread when they are back at work next week, I'm sure they will be quite willing to send you an up to date router.

As I said, the HG533 router has a built in ADSL2+ modem only. The "fibre" port will actually just be a port to connect the router to a separate VDSL (FTTC) modem or full fibre ONT.

You are still being a bit secretive about what package you actually have. When you say "not fibre" I assume you mean not full fibre, but perhaps you are actually on a FTTC package which would explain why the HG533 can't connect.

Hi Allym,

Yes I have a package with talktalk, but not fibre. I bought this as it was new and cost next to nothing, so cost was not an issue. I believe my current d-link is not functioning correctly and the wi-fi signal around the house is getting worse. I have complained several times to them and they say all is good, but wanted me to upgrade to fibre rather than provide a new router. The router I now have has fittings for both ADSL and fibre, so I thought it might solve my issue prior to considering switching provider.

Thanks

Ok, I have so many questions.

When you said "fibre", I wasn't sure whether you meant full fibre or FTTC but in any case that is quite an old TalkTalk router and is ADSL2+ only, no "fibre" of any kind. I'm a bit confused as to why you are buying that.

Do you actually have a broadband package with TalkTalk?

If so, what package are you on?

and do you not already have a TalkTalk router?

If you are willing to tell us the make/model, somebody on the forum may be familiar with it perhaps.

Is there a pinhole reset on the router? If so try that or log into the computer via your pc to reset.

Have you seen this help guide?

If you have any variant of fibre package I believe you follow the fibre Instructions.

Hope this helps.
