Link Rate reduced too 9997/39999 Kbps

Good Morning,
I noticed my broadband was running slow on the evening of the 28th April, when checking on Friday the 29th I saw that my "Link Rate: 9997/39999 Kbps" this is much reduced from my normal rate which from memory was in the low 60Mbps
This morning Saturday the 30th April I ran a Talktalk speed test, where I got the following results
Speed to router 40Mbps, to my device 36Mbps download, 6Mbps upload, tested both wired and wireless devices
The guaranteed download speed to your home TalkTalk router is 49 Mbps
The chart showing the last seven days data to my router has been below 50Mbps reducing to 40Mbps from Monday the 25th April
My landline telephone has no "noise" on the line and is working as normal, though we seldom use it!
Can I ask that you investigate this reduce speed issue?
many thanks
John

Good Morning,
the Openreach engineer visited yesterday and from his data he could see a that the connection
speed had been varying for a while. After investigation he discovered a "corroded connection" some where
on my line, outside the house, with this fixed his test equipment showed a near perfect connection.
With the Talktalk router connected we had
Current speeds ( from router Web interface)
Download : 70.6 MbpsUpload Upload: 24.1 Mbps
The Engineer did mention that attenuation seen when using the router was high but this reading was
not present on his test equipment, he reported this to the "TalkTalk service desk"
This Morning Tuesday the 24th I see the
Current speeds (from the router Web interface)
Download Download: 76.8 MbpsUpload Upload: 20.0 Mbps
Talktalk speed test "Great! You're getting the download speed of 74 Mbps, as expected"
These speeds are pre March 2021 levels , this was the last time we had an issue and Openreach switched our line and our speed dropped too mid 60 Mbps , ( I know these are high speeds but as I have said we have generally always had a Very good connection and speed)
I we will monitor for the rest of the week and then hopefully confirm all is ok.
many thanks
John

Good Evening,
after 48hrs with the replacement router connected to my master socket (with my voice service also connected) I see no improvement in the speed of my connection, what further action can you take ?

Speed test results: You're getting a download speed of 38 Mbps. Your guaranteed speed: 49 Mbps
I did notice this reconnection in the router logs ( my old router did not update the logs!)

Hello,
Thank you for confirming. Do you have an alternative router that you could test with? If not then I think we should send a replacement router for testing purposes to rule this out.
Thanks

Morning,
I've re-checked the connection stats again now and I can see that the sync speed increased and then reduced again. Is the router still connected to the test socket? Is there any noise on the line?
Thanks

Hi,
Yes, if that's ok with you then I would agree as it's possible that DLM may increase this further. I will check this again on Thursday morning.
Thanks

"The guaranteed download speed to your home TalkTalk router is 49 Mbps"
Good afternoon,
the link rate is still 9997/43999 Kbps, speed test also remains at 41Mbps/ 6Mbps , speed to the router is 42Mbps
as the Talktalk speed test sites says status "Poor"
I would suggest we wait a further 48 hrs and see if there is significant increase in the link rate / speed test, before further actions?
John
