I’ve had no internet since yesterday. The light on the Wi-Fi box has been solid orange and I’ve tried everything to get it to work but still nothing. Even tried resetting the Wi-Fi box but that doesn’t work either. Can someone please help?

OK, if you'd like us to go ahead with the engineer visit can you confirm:

  • That you accept potential Engineers charges
  • Provide availability, either AM (8am to 1pm) or PM (1pm to 6pm) between Monday to Friday.

Thanks

Hi Chris,

Thanks for your reply. I’d be happy with an engineer visit. Please let me know when this will be.

OK thanks. We'll need to raise this as a telephone fault. We'll need to arrange an engineer visit, if you'd like me to do this please let me know and I'll confirm some details with you

I’ve connected it to the test socket and waited a few minutes. The router light was flashing orange and white for a while but it is now solid orange again.

OK, if you remove the faceplate there's a test socket underneath. Could check to see if your have an internet connect and telephone service with the phone and router connected to the test socket. Please let us know how you get on

It looks like the NTE 5c socket.

OK thanks. What does the main one look like?

I think we have two, one that is the main one and another than looks like the non NTE one. I tried connecting the router and telephone to the other socket but it is still flashing orange. The landline phone isn’t working but I think that might just need replacing.

Thanks. How many telephone sockets do your have? Have you tried connecting the router and telephone to the test socket (if you have one)? Your guide to main phone sockets - TalkTalk Help & Support

The landline phone isn’t working completely. That might just be a problem with the actual telephone as it is quite old. There is no dial tone as you can’t call anyone on it. I haven’t been able to use my landline for quite a while now.

OK thanks. Does the line appear to be dead, no dial tone?

Hi rakbar17,

Sorry to hear that you're experiencing problems with your service. Is your telephone service working OK, is there a dial tone?
