We experienced an awful thunderstorm this morning and since then my talk talk tv box does not power up and there is no power to my wifi hub whatsoever. I have tried different sockets and they still do not work. HELP please!

Hi

If the hub is in a different room, the options are to use powerline adapters or purchase a long ethernet lead, the previous lead may have been damaged by the electrical surge.

Ethernet leads can be purchased online via retail sites etc, they are inexpensive, you could probably pick one up for five to ten pounds.

Hi,

No it was provided by the engineer when I upgraded the broadband a while ago as the hub isn’t in the same room as the tv box.

Hi Zoe

I'm so glad to hear this.

Was the previous cable your own equipment?

Hi,

Yes all working fine now, I forgot to update after it was fixed.
Unable to set up the tv box though as the ethernet cable isn’t long enough and the 10m one I was using prior to the storm doesn’t seem to work now.

Hi Zoe

I'm sorry for the delay.

Your line is showing in sync and connected. Is everything working ok now?

Thanks

Debbie

Hi,

I’ve received the new router today and set it up but no internet connection.

is there any update on the fault in the line that provides my connection as there doesn’t seem to appear to be any further updates?

kind regards

Hi Zoe

Ok, thank you. Hopefully this won't have been affected by the thunderstorm.

Please let us know once you have tested with the new router and TV box.

Hi ZoeK91

Are there any lights showing on the Openreach modem?

You should receive the replacement router and TV box within the next 48hrs.

Thanks

Thank you for your reply. Yes I believe there is a fault which is also causing issues and in the process of being fixed

How long will it take to receive new hub & tv box?

kind regards

Hi

I'll get a hub and TV box out to you.

If the Openreach Modem has been damaged also, then an openreach engineer would be required to replace that or repair any damage to the external line.
