VPN issue

Hi, I have recently started a new job and started working from home today. I am able to connect to the VPN, however, when trying to access the shared drives, it doesn't allow a connection. I have tried the same on a mobile hotspot without issue.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Ryan

Hi Ryan

I'm sorry to hear this.

Would you like me to send a different make and model of router for testing?

Hi Debbie,

I've just logged into the VPN, and the same issue occurs. Unfortunately that doesn't help!

Cheers,

Ryan

Hi Ryan

Thanks for your reply.

I've made a change to the router firmware, please can you retest and let us know how the connection compares.

Hi Ryan

Thank you 🙂

I would like to make a change to the router FW, would it be ok if I do this this morning? (please don't reboot the router whilst the firmware is updating)

Thanks

Hi Ryan

Have you added the correct landline number to your Community Profile? (please do not post the number on this thread)

Thanks

Debbie

Hi Chris,

That has been updated. My phone number is my TalkTalk number (so you can find my account), and my alternative is my mobile. If you need to get in touch, please use the mobile!

Thanks for the information, can you please update your community profile to include your:

  • Name

  • Telephone number

  • Alternative contact number

  •

We'll then look into this further. Please do not post this information on this thread. Once you've updated your profile please post in your topic to confirm it's updated.

Thanks

Chris

Hi Keith, Unfortunately I've had to go to the office, so can't check. I'll check when I get home later.

Chris, I use AZURE VPN. No error message, and for 70% of the things, it works. I just can't access the companies network drives. All that happens is that my windows explorer window times out. I've spoken to IT here, and they're suggesting it's something to do with allowing specific ports (as what I can't access is on a different port). In all honesty, I'm not the most tech savvy when it comes to this sort of stuff!

What make/model of router do you have & which firmware version is it running?

Hi Ryan,

Which VPN client are you using? Do you get an error message?
