Why have I been sent a new router?

It looks exactly the same as the other 2.   (No paper work suggesting it is more powerful etc. )

The renewal notice would be referring to what your line is supposed to manage in the promised package rather than any claims for the performance of the router itself.

They seem be sending these routers out with the renewals these days, whereas they used to really hold back on honouring that (it usually does say that the router is included at renewal) as long as the old one worked.

Did you renew online for something like this?

Staff should be able to check the name of your package and the throughput to the router. Leave it switched on.

Might be an idea to check your next bill carefully, as they have been charging £9.95 for sending out routers despite people not requesting them. You might need to get that sorted out too, @g3sdy.

Hi Thanks for reply,  The one we are using was fitted when fibre arrived.  The other arrived by post day after.  Its still boxed.    I renewed the broadband this week and the extra HUB arrived yesterday.  It is identical to the original and the one in the box.  The renewal notice suggested it would be "twice the speed" .. we still have a wire landline here too.  Hope that helps.

 Thanks again   Gerald

Perhaps fill us in on why you were already sent a second one, @g3sdy?

Is it the ordinary Sagemcom hub, or does it have an extra slot where a phone could be plugged in? That would be the Hub2, and you would get that if you are now on Full Fibre.

Some instructions can be found if you search in the forum search engine  - otherwise all these things tend to only come with basic illustrations.

Check to see if there was a returns bag included for returning any redundant routers, or otherwise request one from staff on here.
