router page says not secure

when i log into my router it claims it is no longer secure , not that its needed but i wanted to let someone know  this fact if at all bothered tried on twitter got no where even when i said i got no issues just advising you of this issue

hopefully this screen grab will explain better , as i said no issues with my service just wanted to let someone in talktalk know this ^^ also it dont stop me loggin into the router either 

 

it all started when the firmware was updated so ?

This has nothing to do with the router's firmware, it is just that most browsers are now making this more obvious. It has always been insecure in that it uses the http protocol & not the https one.

 

That said, it cannot be accessed remotely, only from devices locally connected to it. You should always change the router's admin password to something else, as you should also do with your wireless password. In both cases, making them much stronger passwords improves your security as far as the router is concerned a lot.
