Can’t send or receive email on eM Client

Using eM for first time since February, and after a eM update, I couldn’t send messages (but received OK). I changed email settings, now I can neither send nor receive. Plus my recent inbox messages on iPhone/iPad have disappeared, but can still send and receive OK. Help, please!

Problem fixed! I think that the password had changed since it was saved, and is only now needed for smtp. It's a nuisance that you can't see your password to check, but I guess that's a security feature. Many thanks. Now, if I could only retrieve my lost messages!

On the SMTP tab there's the option to enter and use credentials so it would be worth putting in the email address and manually entering the password so you're sure the right password is being presented.

“xxxxx@talktalk.net: The authentication failed due to the following reason:

Unexpected end of stream
[SMTP] An attempt to connect to xxxxx@talktalk.net failed. This could be caused by temporary server unavailability or incorrect settings. “

Any send error message? And can you send using TalkTalk Mail webmail?

Tried setting up a different email client like Thunderbird for example or BlueMail? And then tested sending just to see if it's eMClient or Internet Security Software on your computer blocking secure ports?

TT now say no problems, but I still can't send and my recent messages are still missing.

I was helping another customer yesterday that reported a similar issue. We couldn't see anything wrong with the email client setup and it looked like there was just a delayed buffering issue that came good given time. So, I wouldn't make any changes at your end.

Thanks, Gondola. Yes 9.2, but pop3, using port 995.

I now receive messages, but still not sending.

Thanks, I discovered this after posting, and it’s a relief that it’s being worked on. Hope I haven’t messed up my settings trying to fix it.
