I have received an email with the title “Email Service” (with accents on the E and S and the TM trade mark symbol after the word “Service”)
The content of this email simply says:
Important Server Notices
TALKTALK
Dear users
Your mailbox will be shutting down on the 14th of September due to recent upgrades
Follow the link below to upgrade:
Upgrade Mailbox
Notice: Ignoring this message would lead to the termination of your Mailbox without permission
Thanks for using bigpond.net.au
I’m pretty sure that this is a scam and would not expect TalkTalk to require me to take immediate action on the day to avoid permanently terminating my email account even if there had been some upgrades to system and/or security.
Please can someone confirm whether this is genuine and reassure me that my email account will not be terminated or whether it is a scam as I have no intention of following the link in the email without further information
Thanks and kind regards
Tony

Hi Tony,
Yes that sounds like a scam. Please see the following help article (there is a list of recent phishing emails) - Phishing emails & everything you need to know - TalkTalk Help & Support

It's a scam.
If you hover over the email address it's come from, I suspect it won't even have ralktalkbin the hidden address.
And Dear User us a giveaway too.
