We’re aware that some of our customers are having problems with their Tiscali email service. 

The issue only seems to be impacting email clients such as Outlook. The webmail service is working as normal.

We’re sorry for any inconvenience this is causing, we're working hard to get things back up and running as quickly as possible.

 

Please check you have the current upto date email settings as below:

I have got some G mails through, but definitely still missing some Hotmail that someone told me they had sent.  Don't know what else may be missing still !

Also having a problem and not receiving emails to my tiscali account. When will this be sorted?

The @Tiscali.co.uk is still not working as of 12:30 today via webmail for me, is anyone else receiving external mail.

 

The MX is showing records active with DMARC and SPF, so the servers are externally visible, Gmail is showing this error on test mail sent:

 

The MX host does not match any MX allowed by the STS policy. For more information, go to  https://support.google.com/a/answer/9261504

 

It looks like there is an illegal operand on the mail MX settings for the domain/rerouting

 

Is someone able to confirm when this issue will be resolved?

Its not only Outlook affected.  Its Hotmail & Gmail as well as reports on here state.  I got one mail today but havent received a number i know where sent to me over last 3 days.  I use both the web mail and a client and both affected.

Hello, Has this issue been resolved as I've started having problems sending tiscali emails from Gmail . The settings I have are

imap.tiscali.co.uk port 993 SSL/TLS

smtp.tiscali.co.uk port 587 STARTTLS

For the last few days, some emails sent to my tiscali mailbox have just not arrived and do NOT appear via the webmail service either.  Senders are not receiving any indication that the emails have not arrived at the destination. This appears to affect some sender domains only - I have changed the registered email address to non TalkTalk associated emails addresses and am slowly migrating away from TT email domains as the service is unreliable.

Hi, mine was set to tiscal.co.uk so changed both to talktalk.net which appears to have resolved the problem. Can only assume a change has come about without informing the users. Why am I not surprised?!

Tiscali is the original company before Talk Talk took over. When it did my Tiscali address remained the same. The suggestion is that we are now outdated and all settings should be talk.talk.net. However, it maybe that there was a fault that Talk Talk have addressed and all is resumed... Haven't tested this though...

I wasn't aware that settings perhaps needed to change. Emails stopped coming in so tried changing the imap server from tiscali.co.uk to talktalk.net and the same for smtp and it all started working again....

Did not know there are new email settings for tiscali.  What are they.  I will try it out once I know what they are.

Just to clarify that i did not change the server to talktalk.net. It is now working as tiscali.co.uk as usual.

Seems that the answer is yes. Changing my i phone out going mail settings from smpt.tiscali.co.uk to smpt.talktalk.net cleared the lack of out going mail.

But why don't they tell us this instead of having to endlessly search for the info ?

Finally just this minute, my emails have come through and it is now working!  Talktalk have wasted nearly 2 days of my time!

Ady,  thanks that did work on my i phone. Changed from smtp tiscali to smpt talktalk.net for out going mail. This problem only occurred about 20 or so hours ago.

 

Strange that only iphone affected as my WinPC is OK.

 

Would have been good in the interests of customer satisfaction to have flagged this change up earlier by another means, an email to all Tiscali users would have saved a lot of angst ?

Just to clarify, since yesterday morning i cannot receive or send emails on my pc or imac. i receive emails on my iphone but cannot reply. I can only receive and send emails on the webmail site.
