Outlook is no longer working with talktalk IMAP - it says can't connect to server. Settings are correct (as taken from talktalk website) and worked until about two days ago. I have tried on two different PC's with two different versions of outlook (2016 and 365) and I get the same error message - cannot access server. Webmail is working just fine.

Hi there @Dx--- I am sorry to hear you are experiencing the same issue with Outlook, as this is a third party App my resources are limited. Kindly start your own thread should you require further assistance.

In which case @Hunda67 I suggest you reach out to an Outlook Forum as staff here are only able to offer support for Webmail Issues.
The normal advice is to delete and re-add the e-mail address. Sorry this didn't work.
Have you tried using Thunderbird and adding the account using the same credentials to ensure you have them correct?

Hi, already done. Latest version of Outlook on both PC's (2016 and 365). Deleted account, restarted everything and cannot re-create the account as always getting cannot reach server error.

@fr8ys thanks for support.

I suggest, if not already done, deleting your account from Outlook, shut the program down and then open and re-add your email account.
Others had a similar issue a few months ago, albeit with POP settings, and this suggestion worked then. Hopefully it will do so now @Hunda67

Also, there are a few general troubleshooting steps you can try and let us know how that works out.
1.Make sure you have the latest version of Outlook installed, as updates often fix bugs and improve functionality.
2.If issues persist, try removing the email account from Outlook and re-adding it. This can reset any misconfigured settings
3.Sometimes, firewall or antivirus software can block connections. Temporarily disable them to see if they are causing the problem.

@Hunda67 thanks for your response. We are only able to support with troubleshooting if you are using your email through TalkTalk webmail. Since webmail is functioning as normal, we suggest that you continue to use webmail.

Hi, Thanks for the reply - yes it is a stable internet connection. I tried with two different internet connections and PC's in a relatives house. IMAP works with Outlook for other email providers no problem. It is only the Talktalk email that has the issue, and as I say it worked fine till a couple of days ago.

Could you please let me know if your home internet connection is stable and functioning well?
