Hi

1. Is there an official TalkTalk policy regarding TalkTalk legacy emails and how long they remain active if one leaves TalkTalk after 31st October 2025?

(ChatGPT claims they are free for 1 year after leaving. Perpexity AI states they are not free at all).

2. If one joins Everymail and then returns to TalkTalk as a Fibre customer, are the legacy TalkTalk email address free again, or never again free?

Regards

Hi @CherryPicker9999 We strive to provide value to our customers, and I regret to hear that you feel our deals are not matching those offered by other providers. Your mention of competitor incentives like vouchers and cashback is noted. We continuously look for ways to enhance our offers, and your feedback will help guide those efforts.

If you return to TalkTalk as a Fibre customer and unsubscribe from Everymail, you will indeed be able to link your legacy TalkTalk email address to your broadband account again. This will allow you to have email services free of charge, as long as you maintain an active TalkTalk service.

If you have any further questions, feel free to reach out. We’re here to help!

Well, even factoring in this cost, I cannot find a single TalkTalk deal thay competes with what is available on the market. The value team provide such poor deals and seem to have no idea what deals big players such as Sky and Vodafone offer (which also include Digital Voice as standard on City Fibre Lines. It seems TalkTalk will only offer Digital Voice in City Fibre areas to existing customers and use Open Reach. Incentives from others (vouchers and cashback) really undercut Talk Talk's offering, by far more than £5 a month. More like £6-£10 a month. However much one wants to stay, it makes little sense. Once one leaves they cannot return if they want Digital Voice in a City Fibre area. A very sad situation.

Hi @CherryPicker9999 If you have a TalkTalk email and are considering leaving the service after 31st October 2025, please be aware that you will need to pay £50 per year to maintain access to your legacy email address. Unfortunately, legacy email accounts will no longer be free for a year. To keep your emails, you'll need to sign up for Everymail within 30 days of your disconnection.

I've escalated your second question to find out if you can unsubscribe from Everymail in order to have your email linked to your active account for free if you return in the future. I’ll provide you with an update as soon as I have more information.

Good question about what happens if/when you return again, @CherryPicker9999, so we'll need to wait for staff to clarify that scenario.

You definitely won't be able to use the webmail for the many months, sometimes years that happened before. I think I've seen a grace period mentioned when people leave, but it's only a month or two, and we'd need clarification that it's from when the service is switched/ended / final bill issue.

Don't assume because it doesn't stop abruptly on leaving that it's not going to stop within weeks.
