Unable to receive emails on laptop or Android mobile since 17th Feb

I have been unable to receive emails since 17th February 2023, despite updating my security settings, as requested and being promised that email access would be restored within 24 hours.

 

On 17th February I received an email asking me to update my security settings, which I duly did on my laptop. I was unable to update the settings on my Android device, as I kept getting an error message, saying that POP3/IMAP access had been removed from my email account.

 

On 21 February I contacted TalkTalk support via chat with a request to restore IMAP access and provided proof that my security settings had been updated on my laptop. I was told by TalkTalk Support that I would have a resolution within 24 hours. However, more than 48 hours have passed, and today I still cannot access my emails.

 

The apps I am using are Windows 10 Mail and Android 13 Email.

Hi BlackberryBay, I've added your 2 mailboxes to those to be restored to normal function. Please allow 48 hours for the change to complete.

Please log in to My Account if you need to view or pay your bill, manage boosts and track your usage. From My Account you can also check your connection and test your line for any issues in the Service Centre.

Both devices are capable of secure mail. I'll add some device guides below to help you check.

 

You'll always have access via TalkTalk Mail webmail.

 

Select here: Sign in to TalkTalk Mail

Enter your full TalkTalk Mail email address and password, select Sign in.

 

On the basis of your self certification of secure settings I'll request TalkTalk Support restore full access. TalkTalk Support will respond right here. Heads up that there are delays in getting access restored.

 

Prepare for TalkTalk Support - include in the Community Profile (not in these public posts):

Scroll down to Private notes to add the email address and customer account number

Check and Save changes
