I am trying to move to Thunderbird so I can use the new secure settings. But thunderbird keeps saying that the password is not correct. But It is correct.
Reading peoples problems I see some replies say talktalk have "locked" their accounts as they have not yet made the security changes

Ah I think I know what this is. I do have more than the 2 that you can see and they are all working but I think I was on the forum under a different user name once and then changed my forum name to marvel for some reason so maybe the ones you cannot see are the original ones under my old forum login name as under that old name as far as I can remember I have never had to update my personal info - you know for certain admin help.
Does that explain it.

I actually have 5 and I have tested 4 of them and they are working in my new secure email client.
I am yet to test the 5th one

Hi Marvel, the 2 email addresses in your profile both have full function. Are there other mailboxes that aren't listed?

Thank you it seems to be working ok now. Sending and receiving on a new email client with the advanced security settings
Hopefully I have missed the "locked" issues that people are now experiencing

Yes, the User name is always the full email address.

I think I may of sorted it. In the section where I but my user name I was just putting "marvel" --( example, not my real user email ) when it should be the full email address.

The message from TalkTalk advising "Our records show that you are still accessing your email using unencrypted email settings, because of this you will no longer be able to receive or send emails via this email app or software" means the email address receiving that notification has been limited to webmail only access as a last resort action by TalkTalk to stop the use of insecure email. But there was a notification on Service Status suggesting that users receiving this notification may have just sending stopped.
TalkTalk Mail webmail is secure by design using an up to date Internet browser.
Select here: Sign in to TalkTalk Mail
Enter your full TalkTalk Mail email address and password, select Sign in.
You will be able to get email access restored to email apps or software including mail collection services, passwords will then re-authenticate, so long as you're ready to use up to date and secure email settings for all the ways you view emails. We can advise on device and software compatibility and provide customer setup guides. Just let us know each mail collection service, each device, its operating system and email software including version that are in current use.
Cease using Outlook 2010 as taking it online could trigger another stop on sending. But the good news is that your Thunderbird settings are good. So just confirm that's the only way you access your mail messages, other than webmail via a browser.
For a definitive check of any other device settings take screenshots of the incoming and outgoing server settings, image edit to obscure the first part of the email address and upload here using the Camera icon (desktop browser) or Picture icon (mobile browser) above this reply area.

Prepare for TalkTalk Support - include in the Community Profile (not in these public posts):
Email account holder name
Scroll down to Private notes to add the email address(es)
and TalkTalk or MailPlus customer account number
Check and Save changes
