Help using old HG633 as an extender

Hello, I recently have gotten the new talk talk WiFi hub and tried to use my old HG633 as an extender to get better signal around the house, I changed the second routers IP, made sure the channels were different and disblaed the DHCP as I followed a guide previously posted on here, this worked for about a month and my WiFi is playing up it connects but does not do anything, I disconnected the secondary router and now it is fine. Any help/ideas on what it could be?

How are you connecting the two routers?

If you also connect each router to the phone socket individually, does wifi work on each and allow you to connect ?
