Checking wi-fi connection

Switch on tv and always says wi-fi not connected but works OK. Tried to check wi-fi connection and instructions say press Home button on your TV remote - I don't have a home button on my remote.
Any suggestions?

Are we talking TV, or a set top box?
Which box do you have if it's the box?
If a TV you be best checking a forum for the TV.
