We are on a TalkTalk FTTC connection, (Believed to be LLU), which actually is perfectly reliable & adequate for our needs (throughput 66/20mbps d/u) AND we prefer to have a landline phone rather than VOIP.
Although TT owns the "last mile" to us, OpenReach/BT own the infrastructure which includes the mains powered DSLAMs at street level. I can see that they would want to rid themselves of those ASAP though there is still the issue of people with special needs such as alarms etc I think still only workable over copper.
Realistically, has anyone got a firm idea how long TalkTalk will be able or want to maintain FTTC? We are in a village which has not just one, but two FTTP networks installed so we do have those options available.
