ordered a new hub3 which arrived safely but i didnt order nor do i have the small fibre box. As i cant connect to the internet do i need to have a fibre box to work with the hub3? If i do what is the difference between the black and the white one. Thanks

The Hub 3 is broadly similar to the Hub 2 and, to some degree, the Hub 1 as well. I assume, though, as you state that you do not have a fibre box (ONT), you do not have Full Fibre. It will also connect to a Full Fibre ONT (Optical Network Termination) if you have that service. It will also connect to a master socket if you have FTTC (Fibre To The Cabinet) and copper wires to your property.

@GBL229, are you with City Fibre?
There may be problems with the Hub3 and City Fibre, rather than Openreach.
The black or white ONT boxes are different depending on whether you are on the City Fibre or Openreach infrastructure for full fibre.
But if you not on Full Fibre yet, I am not sure why you would order the Hub3 at all. Hub2 works well on my old ADSL copper line and does all the Fibre35 and Fibre65 packages fine. What package have you got?
