Leaving talktalk

Hello,

I'm leaving talktalk when my contract ends on the 21st Oct I don't need my talktalk email address or my phone number ported over my new provider says they do not need to contact talktalk. I would be grateful for any help or advice to ensure a smooth transition.  TIA

I will send a returns bag, whatever you have, send that back the last router looks to be from 2016. 

 

Your wont get charged.

Yes - if the new company were taking over the line they would contact Talktalk. Virgin /  Full Fibre infrastructure is not a straightforward switch, @wfm2249.

 

See the Ts&Cs, linked at the foot of the page, for information about the 30 day notice period. 

 

You won't have to worry about early termination fees, but the bill will cover a couple of weeks at full price.

 

Keep your Direct Debit details in place until after you receive a final bill for £0.00.

 

It is standard for them to demand the return of equipment these days (they even sometimes ignore their own Ts&Cs about the first router being yours to keep).

 

None of the equipment will be any use to you after you leave, anyway, and staff can send out further prepaid returns bags if need be. 

 

Always keep a record of the tracking number and a copy of the certificate of posting, as Talktalk goes through phases of not actually recording the returns efficiently.

Called talktalk today they make it so difficult to leave although my contract ends on the 21st Oct they require a month's notice. I was told to send my talktalk equipment back in a prepaid bag if I don't send it all I'll be charged £50 but wouldn't itemise what they want. I've been a loyal customer for many years I can't remember what items I've had.

Best option would be to call the loyalty team on 03451720088 They will be able cancel your service.

Current advice is to also contact Talktalk directly yourself, particularly if you are not keeping the phone number, @wfm2249.
