I GOT A MERCUSYS AC1200, HALO H30 WHEN IS IN CONNECTED TO THE OPEN REACH WHITE MODEM FOR G.FAST IN ROUTER MODE, INSTEAD OF GETTING THE SPEED WHICH IS COMING TO MY HOME, 145/150MBS IT DROPS DOWN TO 95 MBS, AM I DOING SOMETHING WRONG IN THE SETTINGS? THE UPSTREAM SPEED IS WHERE IT SHOULD BE. ITS JUST THE DOWNLOAD SPEED.

Update all is now working, unplug the mesh system, and plugged in a tp-links powerline adapters. I’m now getting full speed from the Talk Talk router, the smell it was coming from the new open reach modem is one of them new smells sorry.

I can send another TalkTalk router to test with, would you like me to arrange this?

Just ran a test on my Mac, and it’s still saying 29.32 upstream and 93.86 downstream that’s with an ethernet cable connection.

as I said, before, I had to unplug the TalkTalk router as it began to smell plastic funny last night. and I felt unsafe using it. I’ve had it since 2020.

Hi prescol,

Are you able to test via ethernet cable connected to the AC1200 (rather than wifi)?

Yes, the speeds are absolutely fine when connected to the Talk Talk Rueter, it was tested by open reach engineer yesterday. However, last night I had to unplug the TalkTalk router straight away as I was beginning to get a burning smell, I thought it was unsafe to use that’s why I’m now using this mesh system..

Hello,

Can I just confirm, are the speeds ok if you connect the TalkTalk router? Do the speeds only drop when you connect your own router?

Thanks
