We recently had talk talk fibre upgrade installed. We’d received a new router, but the installer said it’s the same as the old one, so no need to install. Is this correct? Or is the new router ‘fibre ready’?
They principally look the same except the new router has a telephone socket on rear, old one doesn’t. Will new hub improve service at all or is it just hassle changing all passwords on connected devices and no improvement? Thanks

The Wi-Fi Hub 2 does have a phone port at the rear, the green socket, that is there if your Fibre upgrade package includes digital voice for phone calls.
If you decide to use the Wi-Fi Hub 2 in place of the original Wi-Fi Hub then you can change the Wi-Fi name and password to be the same as the original that then means you don't need to change any settings on your connected devices.
