Router problems - again

Hi

Been having trouble with internet and WiFi for a couple of weeks. First of all the Chromebook lost connection so, eventually, I restarted the router and that seemed to work but then at the weekend the grandchildren said they had no WiFi and we found the TV had none either. Our mobile phones and the TT box had connection but nothing else. I tried unplugging everything from the router, waiting for around 15 minutes and plugging back in, that got everything connected again - for a while. Then I resorted to he reset button and that worked - for a while. Now we're stuck with an amber flashing light on the router and no Wifi! I have also plugged the router directly into the test socket but nothing changed.

Please has anyone any ideas??

Hi F10rrell

The replacement router is on its way, please allow 24-48hrs for this to arrive.

Let us know how the connection compares with this router.

Hi

We have had some problems with the phone line that should have been corrected, though it is still noisy sometimes. Maybe a replacement router would help? Though this one hasn't been in use very long so it would be good to find out why it's gone wrong so soon!

Thank you.

Morning,

I'm sorry to hear this. I've run a test on the line now which hasn't detected a fault. Is the voice service ok with a clear dial tone? Would you like us to send a replacement router for testing purposes? We would also send a router returns bag so that one of the routers can be returned.

Thanks

Hi @F10rrell

That sounds like a fibre or router issue to me.

I have asked one of TalkTalk's support to pick your thread up and investigate it for you.

They aim to respond within 48 hours (Monday - Friday) excluding Bank Holidays, but if more urgent you can always try the Service Centre on 0345 172 0088. The posts are responded to in time/date order, oldest first. Please try to avoid posting on here until TalkTalk has responded to you, otherwise, this will just put you further down the queue.
