despite being on Fibre 65, I only get a connection at 34.99Mbps download (at the router), is this capped at wrong rate?

Hi Ian,

Ok thanks for confirming. If you've already tested with 2 different routers at the test socket then the only option we have is to arrange an engineer visit to the property. Unfortunately we can't manually adjust DLM (Dynamic Line Management) as it will automatically optimise the connection to provide the best balance between stability and speed for the line.

Thanks

Michelle

Hi Ian

No this is not capped as Fibre 35. Is the router still at the test socket?

Thanks,

I don't think an engineer visit will help as this was previously checked and updated to latest socket type.
As the Maximum line rate showing is 42Mbps, but it only runs at 34.99, is it possible it has only been set up as a Fibre 35 service rather than a Fibre 65?

Hi Ian

I can see that the sync speed has remained at 35mb.

I can arrange an Openreach engineer visit but I can't guarantee if the sync speed will increase as this may be the best speeds your line can achieve.

Hi,
Tried powering off for 30 minutes and connecting direct to test socket as suggested, link back at 34.99Mbps as before.

Hi Ian

Thanks for your reply.  When did your service go live?

It would be worth connecting the router at the test socket, then powering it down for a full 30 minutes (then leave the router switched on without rebooting)

I can then check the speed again on Monday to see if DLM has made any changes to the line profile/speed.

Email  gave estimated speed range as between 22.15 Mbps and 53.76 Mbps.

Router shows Maximum line rate as 42.66 Mbps down, but only running at 34.99

Hi Ian

I can't see the predicted speed range for your line, did you receive confirmation of the predicted speed range when you signed up? (email)

The line is in sync at 35mb.

Thanks, I've added phone number the "location" field as there isn't anywhere obvious for landline.

Below is what I see on the router

Hi Ian_philip

Please can you add your TalkTalk landline number to your Community Profile, we can then take a look at this for you.

Thanks

It might be all that your line is capable of, @Ian_philip.

In which case, if Fibre35 is cheaper, you might need to ask if you can change the package  - check that there would be no admin fees for doing so.
