Hi,
Can anyone that has an active TalkTalk Cityfibre connection run a speed test and confirm the download and upload speeds?
Cityfibre advertise a symmetrical service, however sales and the website tell me that its 900 down, 100 up. All other Cityfibre providers advertise 900/900.
Can anyone with an active connection run a test and confirm if the upload and download speeds are indeed symmetrical as im hoping the website is just wrong and showing openreach information.
Thanks all

@antuk I spoke with a couple of people in private messages who had just had CityFibre/TT 150 lines installed and they confirmed it was a symmetric 150/150 line, however, one of the reasons I left TalkTalk was even though if I upgraded to FTTP it would unoffically be symmetric, officially speaking, if there were ever any issues, TalkTalk will refer you to their published, non-symmetric speeds and leave you with the issue.
As TalkTalks support & customer service is atrocious without this complication, amongst other reasons I moved to another ISP (Vodafone) who provide a fully supported symmetric line I am 110% pleased with (today is my last day with TalkTalk after 15+ years).

Yeah I called up, and they read out the exact same numbers for CityFibre. I asked twice to confirm it was CityFibre and they said yes and confirmed the numbers but also said they don't throttle the connection provided by CityFibre. So something doesn't add up....

The TalkTalk website covers Openreach services only as these are the ones available to the majority of customers.

The options are Fibre 150, Fibre 500 and Fibre 900. I don't know how they map to the CityFibre internal offerings. The speeds quoted match Openreach's offering though, so im hoping its just the website thats wrong as every other CityFibre ISP is offering symmetric speeds. Hopefully, there will be at least one person on CityFibre that sees this post and can shed some light on it.

OK. I am not sure which City Fibre products TalkTalk resell I'm afraid. But I have never seen anybody with a symmetric gigabit service posting here other than those who were involved in the UFO project in York, which is now coming to an end. Others may be able to advise further.

Are you sure that TalkTalk provide a City Fibre based service to your premises?

Hi,
I've already spoken to sales, and they have advised me the upload speeds that are not symmetrical, which doesnt add up based on what CityFibre are saying. Hence I want someone that has an active CityFibre service to run a speed test and post their results.

Hello,
I'm sorry for the delay. I'd recommending contacting our Sales Team directly as they will be able to discuss your options.
