I've ordered the router and return bag, they should be with you within a couple of working days but please allow up to 5 working days for delivery

OK thanks. As Keith has said, it may be an issue with the router, would you like me to arrange to send another router to test with?

If it affects wired (Ethernet) devices as well as WiFi, then it can't be down to the WiFi channels. My guess would be that the router or network that is at fault.

Hi
Ok so 6 tests on fast.com on my laptop. WiFi getting 150mbps all 3. Wired (new cat5e cable) getting 85/90mbps.
TV and Fire stick on wifi (Sat right at side of router) still only 36mbps and buffering intermediately last night.
Im wondering if its anything to do with the 2.4Ghz 5Ghz channels?

OK thanks. Could you run 6 speed tests, at least 10 minutes apart on the fast.com speed tester (could you run 3 wired and 3 over wifi)
Thanks

Hi. So I've used internet base ones, Ookla, Broadband speed checker and one on Which.
Having problems with the talktalk speed checker as it says i still have 2 lines, the old copper line might still be active.
I also have a speed checker on my Fire stick that shows between 50 an 30mbps although this is on the 2.4ghz not the 5ghz.
So on TV and fire stick i get frequent buffering which turning off and on each appliance will sort it for a wile.

Hi Chris
Yes, Tried 3 different cables from ONT box and different speed tests 6/7 times. Getting different results each time. No consistent download speed.
Iv checked all cables even outside to ONT box and all ok. Thanks.

Hi...So I have a Fast 5464-2 T4 router.
I have turned the ONT box off for 30 mins and reatarted.
Plugged direct into ONT box and getting about 140mbps.
Back through router I'm getting conflicting results ..on different tests I get 120...70....50....36 mbps.
This is wired and WiFi....
But I get 170mbps upload...very confusing.

Please can you answer these questions:-
- What make/model of TalkTalk router are you using?
- What speeds do you get if you connect a wired (Ethernet) device directly to the ONT in place of the router?
- Have you tried turning the ONT off for a minimum of 30 minutes?
Keith
