My contact ends soon on fibre 65.
If I upgrade to fibre 150 do I have to use eero or can I use my own router?
If I can where are the settings?
eero is a shocking device with an app only interface on a mobile phone with no control.
I will not install any app linked in any way to Amazon.

Hi
That sounds like the correct setting when setting up the router with FTTP. Our service does use dynamic IP.

Karl.

TP link say the router supports dynamic IP and does not need password or username during setup.

Hi
It depends on what settings the router expects, this can differ between routers.
I have FTTP but use an Asus router. When setting this up, I left all the settings as automatic, when following the router set up wizard, when it came to authentication details I had the option to select 'My ISP does not require a username / password' and there were no issues.
Some routers may require that you enter username / password details, however our connection does not require these as the authentication is done at network level from your line.
Thanks
Karl.

Thanks for that, I'm getting closer now.
Just this router setting problem.
If I get the fibre 150 installed should I just try my router or should I set this "setting" done first.
It might be hard to post on this thread if I don't have broad band.
If I get this last problem ironed out I'm going to cross over to FTTP.
Getting happier.

Hi
The digital voice adapter should work with a third party router and the correct voip settings are downloaded direct to the adapter itself.
Thanks
Karl.

Hi .
My router is a TP-Link AX55. Will the Talktalk voip digital voice adapter work with it?
I could not book an appointment for an engineers visit through TT or Open Reach to see how they could entre my home but Open Reach were doing an install down the road and I asked them to call in.
They have told me where they would come in and the position of the ONT so I'm happy with that.
All I need to do now is find out if the digital voice adaptor will work with my router and if my router will work?
If a setting needs to be done can I have this done before or at instillation?
Do I have to find out that a setting needs to be changed when it does not work with my router or can this be done now?

Morning,
If you do experience any issues connecting your own router then please let us know as we may need to make a profile change.
Thanks

Hi @RDF12345 what make is your own router? It should work perfectly well with the ont box supplied on installation. It may be that a very small change is required at the exchange but the staff here are up to speed on that!
