Hello Forum,
My TalkTalk router stopped providing a wireless network, and is showing blinking orange light (which I think indicates a problem with router connecting to fibre)
The open reach box (fibre modem) is showing green lights on Power, PON and LAN which from internet search suggests this is working properly. Nothing on LOS light (which I think means no problem with fibre link?)
I requested a line test which advised there was a problem with router, and have switched off both router and open reach box for 20 mins and then turned on again. The router continued to show blinking orange light (only orange, no white as is normal when reconnecting to fibre) and did not start the wireless network. Have repeated that a couple of times with same result.
So looks like router is broken unless a fault with fibre connection stops wireless network starting? I can't connect to management page of router on IP 192.168.1.1 because there is no wireless network. Not sure if it would be possible to connect to cable?
Any ideas for further investigation, or does this just sound like a broken router?
I did try Sara agent, but after promising to connect me to an expert, got no further
Thanks
G

Definitely return the old one, but get a certificate of posting from the PO as proof of sending. You should be able to check it's progress on the Royal Mail website.

Thanks Michelle
The new router is working - connected first time.
Do you want the old one back? (bag and postage label was included in box for new one)

Exactly the same happened to me, started yesterday. Eventually managed to get the expert on chat but he quickly disappeared. The issue is apparently being dealt with, but no update so far. Fault seems to be widespread. Is it the cold or the launch of 5G? I ll let you know if Talktalk get back with problem solved or a fix.
