I've just received an email stating that I have missed a direct debit payment. Talk Talk has decidednto take over Shell Broadband. Good for them. More profits for them. My issue is I have been on hold for over 2 hours on the phone, which never happens with my previous provider. I am on the phone to question why I have received this email and on further inspection on Talk Talk policy on late payments are also going to charge me £12.50 for something they should be working with my previous supplier.

To top it all my previous suppliers charge for Broadband 900mb was £48.75

First bill from Talk Talk was £68.35!!

No lag or staggered payments. It was like for like. Migration process they assured was seamless.

Let's do the Maths .......

£12.50 for a late or missed direct debit

£19.60 difference in price from previous supplier vs Talk Talk

£32.50 unwarranted overcharged

Now multiply this for all the people affected in the thousands maybe millions in migration from another supplier to Talk Talk. Think of all the elderly or people who are technophobes that read their email and like decent customers , just pay it and not question it.

I called Talk Talk to enlighten me in their seamless profit making takeover and ask them about the discrepancies. They admit and apologised it was a fault their end and a credit will be  made on my account next month ( so they keep my money and not instantly credited.....enjoy the bank interest on your tactical mistake ).

Thank you Talk for admitting  you got it wrong but I made the phone call.....where you should be.

If your loved ones who are not savvy on their bills in this time of financial  hardship ...p,ease take the time to help them not get ripped off..........

Make the call

HI WB4563

Looks like unfortunate timing in that that start of your service with us and the advanced charge is almost 2 month worth of service , so the pro rata charges for the past month have been applied to the advanced charge in this months bill

There has been a credit raised which you can have refunded or used again you next bill which will be the price agreed with Shell that will carry  over to us.

Regards
